On the weekend of October 18-20, the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, Texas Assembly, once again held its annual Fall boy’s retreat for young boys of the city to give them a lovely fun-filled weekend away from the city with only fun activities and God.
The Boys had plenty of activities to enjoy and keep them busy as well as to educate them about nature, from a game of tossing houseshoes to a nature walk and introduction to several animals.
The boys also enjoyed learning how-to and getting to fish and going canoeing.
There were also plenty of teaching moments for the boys to learn more about God and good life lessons.
Towards the end of Saturday in the late afternoon, the boys were broken into two groups and then two teams to play some impromptu sports and just enjoy themselves.
Overall a very successful Fall Boy’s retreat!
Our national officers offered an excellent presentation to the House of Bishops. Strongly recommend viewing!
Our sole funding effort each year is a golf tournament, held this year on September 30 at Cypresswood Golf Course in Spring, TX. We had over 100 players, with sponsorships from individuals, churches and businesses throughout the Diocese. Those funds go to the various ministries supported by the Brothers, including a boys’ retreat at Camp Allen and a scholarship for a graduating senior. Congratulations to St Timothy’s of Galveston on the reinstallation of their chapter. St Timothy’s chapter had been the third one ever issued in the Diocese of Texas. Congratulations on your return to the fold, and many thanks to Good Shepherd from Friendswood on their sponsoring of St Timothy’s return!
